Many Different Ingredients Create a Recipe for a Good Day

There are many different ingredients to create a recipe for a good day.  Each day choose at least one ingredient from the list below and you will have a great day.

  • Give a compliment to someone.  When you generously give it is rewarding.
  • Do a fun activity.  Choose something you really enjoy.
  • Help someone.  This could be a friend, or someone you do not know.
  • Eat one of your favorite foods.
  • Spend time with a friend.  You could do an activity together or just talk.
  • Call a friend or relative on the phone that you have not spoken to in a long time.
  •  Play your favorite game.  This could include a board game, card game, word game, or computer game.
  • Eat your favorite donut.
  • Listen to your favorite music.
  • Give an unexpected gift to someone.
  • Go out to eat with someone.
  • Spend time doing your favorite hobby.
  • Host a party or go to a party.
  • Send a card or letter to someone special in your life.
  • Do zero cleaning in your house.
  • Perform ‘random acts of kindness’ such as holding the elevator door open for someone or allowing someone to stand ahead of you in the checkout lane.
  • Empty the coins from your wallet and put them in a jar.  Continue to add coins until you have enough money to buy something for yourself.
  • Ask your spouse to complete a task on your ‘honey do list.’
  • Stay in your pajamas all morning and do not answer the phone or the door.
  • Watch an old movie and drink a chocolate shake.
  • Read a love story.
  • Get a good night’s sleep.
  • Receive a hug from someone who cares for you.
  • Take a vacation day from work.
  • Resolve a conflict.
  • Sing a song in the shower, or hum a tune as you get ready for the day.
  • Bake something that is homemade, not out of a box.
  • Soak your feet.
  • Create your own ‘ingredient’ for a great day!
